Dubai Band The Boxtones Share Stage with Global Stars

Culture

The Boxtones, a rock band based in Dubai, has turned their fortunes around by performing alongside international music legends such as Bryan Adams, Pharrell Williams, and Liam Gallagher. Consisting of Scottish-Canadian musicians, Gary Tierney, Louise Peel, Gill Janssen, and Will Janssen, the band has carved a niche for themselves in the UAE's music scene. They've also won the Rolling Stone ‘Street to Stage’ competition and released an album with Universal Music Mena. Beyond their musical achievements, they also run an entertainment consultancy business, The Boxtones FZE, founded in 2013. Their decision to relocate from Scotland to Dubai proved strategic due to the oversaturated UK music scene, allowing them to perform at significant events like the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix. Their favorite performance was opening for Jason Derulo, where they played to 30,000 people. The band aims to perform in Saudi Arabia as it represents a growing music market. Dubai has been pivotal in their success, offering them opportunities and enabling them to pursue their passion while supporting their family.
